The Order of the Arrow is an organization of distinguished members of the Boy Scouts of America. Its members are composed of boy scouts who have attained the rank of First Class and have spent a minimum of 15 evenings camping in the two years prior to their election to OA. They are elected by the boys in their troop and approved by their scoutmaster.
OA is modeled after Native American culture. Members wear authentic looking regalia and perform solemn ceremonies in the Native American tradition. They also perform service for the various units, community organizations, and scout properties.
The Manu Lodge welcomes two of its newest members, both from our troop. Cody Regier and Zach Morey were recently elected by their peers to join this elite group of scouts. Please join me in congratulating both Cody and Zach on this accomplishment. Both will be required to complete some additional requirements to complete the "rite of passage" into the Order.
Spring Ordeal is scheduled to take place during the first week of Spring break 2010. All OA Candidates who were elected into OA this year must participate in Spring Ordeal. Otherwise they will have to be elected again by their peers.
Check the Order of the Arrow page for details and downloads.
